Marcy is teaching Intro to SASS at GirlDevelopIt at two of their sessions.

Ryan @ HIVE - June 20-21

Ryan, our VP of design, will be giving a talk entitled "Fostering Digital Craftsmanship," presenting some ideas on how to instill the same expectations of quality in digital work that we see in the physical world.

Barton & Melissa @ HIVE - June 20-21

Barton and Melissa will be presenting some of their lessons from Distiller, specifically how to integrate development and design in an interdisciplinary fashion on an agile project without running into the expected pitfalls.

Marcy @ HIVE - June 20-21

In this talk Marcy will be presenting some of the accessibility concerns that arise with modern software projects and why/how to use our current toolset to mitigate them.

Eyeo Festival – June 10-13

Eyeo assembles an incredible set of creative coders, data designers and artists, and attendees -- expect enthralling talks, unique workshops and interactions with open source instigators and super fascinating practitioners.

HIVE Conference Opening Party – June 19

Substantial is kicking off this year's HIVE conference with an opening party at Sole Repair. All HIVE pass holders are invited to join us in the festivities and take the time to meet their fellow attendees and conference speakers. There will be food, drinks, music and a few surprises to get things going.

Design thinking propels the most exciting products hitting the market today and users demand front-end UI and back-end engineering partner to create a seamless user experience. Seattle.rb Monthly Meetup – June 3

Seattle.rb was the first Ruby and Rails user group in North America and has met regularly for over a decade. We convene every Tuesday night to contribute to open source, work on personal projects, and teach and learn from one another. All skill levels are welcome!

Beer&&Code – June 11 & 25

Beer&&Code is a coder's meetup in Seattle. A typical Beer&&Coder likes to use any programming language for work or for fun, enjoy a tasty drink, meet other Beer&&Coders and be a part of a community, and be challenged and learn from others. Whether you are new developer, a veteran, a designer, or none of those, you can hang out at Beer&&Code.

Health 2.0 Seattle: Risks & Roadblocks – June 17

Health 2.0 Seattle is the local chapter of the global Health 2.0 movement for advancing healthcare with technology. Our mission is to establish Seattle as a leader in healthcare innovation by facilitating dialogue among professionals from the local technology, life sciences, and global health industries.

Refresh Seattle – June 18

Refresh Seattle is a community of designers and developers working to refresh the creative, technical, and professional culture of New Media endeavors in the Seattle/Puget Sound area. Promoting design, technology, usability, and standards, Refresh Seattle is a part of Refresh and the associated Refreshing Cities.

Design Thinking & Innovation Collective - June 26

Seattle Design Thinking & Innovation Collective aims to bring people together from a wide variety of industries, backgrounds and roles to collaborate and discuss practices, methodologies, tactics and experiences to help us collectively bring innovative ideas to the world.

Community Event:

Clean Sweep 2014 – June 8

Every Spring the Chamber organizes an annual Clean Sweep of the Hill. Volunteers from around the neighborhood gather at Cal Anderson Park and are dispersed to scrub the streets. It's a great way to meet your neighbors and help make the place sparkle.
